Raceline/SBD wetsump pan for drysump?

I've recently received an SBD duratec wet sump pan to help solve our oil issues and have noticed it has a large anodized bung into the cavity which the pump receives the oil from the pick-up pipe. Now I can't help thinking that this port could be used as a feed to the pump from an oil tank instead - with 2 skavenge tubes into the side of the sump, appropriatley shapped/positioned windage try to train oil towards the pick-ups and a 2-stage skavenge pump driven from the front pulley you have a dry sump setup.

Have people heard of such a setup with a raceline/SBD/Titan sump and has it been shown to work? I think I saw pictures such a setup to the other day on LCB but now can't find them.

It should be noted we have a tank and 2 stage pump in stock so are fairly close to having all the bits anyway if the above setup is likely to work!
