R1 emissions
The chap tuning my MK R1 for IVA is having trouble getting the emissions settled.
CO and HC are fine, but the lamda seem to be wondering about and too high most of the time.
There are no air leaks on the exhaust system anywhere.
Do you think removing the AIS system will help? or push the HC past what the CAT can handle?
Anyone else got a carb r1 through IVA?
Cheers
Ben
You couldn't pwn your way out of a wet paper bag, with "PWN ME!!" written on it, from the "pwned take-away" which originally contained one
portion of chicken tikka pwnsala and the obligatory free pwnpadom.

Hello Ben,
Sorry to hear you haven't got there yet with the emissions, As I found out they can be a right pain in the a**e!!
I blocked off the Ais to get it through IVA (the lambda was just too high with it in) also rebuilt the exhaust using new gaskets and was advised to
silicone on all the joint and headers (clear cheap stuff) to make sure that a slight air leak wasn't pushing the lambda out.
I was running around -10 on the power commander in the end, but I take it because you using carbs you haven't got that to aid you?
When I was having my re-test Ian was saying you were having problems similar to the readings I were getting.
Cheers Toby

Yeah was lamda that was giving me trouble on the first test.
Got a quick blanking route planned for the retest, hopefuly Ian will allow a bit of tinkering on the day if the emissions aren't right.

Try it with the pipe to the AIS valve blocked. Once warm it shouldn't make a difference but it does. It did alter mine but passed with it
unblocked but it is injection. You might have to start again with the CO and HC
