Am i taking this 'new' thing too seriously?
I am doing a scratch build, largely haynes based but with custom suspension. I decided early on to go for a new vehicle registration. My one recon
component is the engine which is being rebuilt to as new condition.
As i understand it, everything else must be new with receipts to prove. This has been an expensive process but i have managed it so far with the
exception of the back axle. The only new diff i could source was a 7.5" sierra courtesy of BearingKits so i am committed to 108mm bolt ons. I
have managed shafts, cv's, bearing carriers and hubs from various sources (grassers, TVR parts etc) but I am completely stumped on stub axles! I
have acquired two good pairs to help with the build but i cannot find new ones anywhere.
I read lots of comments about dummying up invoices on Word etc, but has anyone actually done that and got away with it? Surely the IVA testers get to
know what components are hard to find and will see throigh that. What do the builders like Westfield who use Sierra component back ends do?
Or am i taking this whole thing too literally?

IVA man doesn't check reciepts, DVLA man does 
Plenty of people have just got creative with their printers.
You couldn't pwn your way out of a wet paper bag, with "PWN ME!!" written on it, from the "pwned take-away" which originally contained one
portion of chicken tikka pwnsala and the obligatory free pwnpadom.

I admit to getting creative with the computer for a few invoices, but that was 12 years ago. I got my new registration, not sure if they scrutinize
them an more nowadays!

I shouldn't think they study invoices too deeply but, if you must cheat, don't do too many as too many 'simply' Word layouts
would be obvious.

i don't see the point of a new reg tbh. won't you end up paying higher rate of road tax than you would with a Q plate, for example?
can't think of any specifically, but theres been plenty of new regs on here, but i'm sure they still use old sierra diffs etc
i'm sure you could calm it down a little at least. DVLA probably won't even see the stubs, or the inside of the diff, so he's not
going to know whats in there!

Athough the official stance is ALL new components with the exception of one , which must be reconditioned "as new", the forms from DVLA
only request major component reciepts (chassis, body, engine, transmission, brakes, axles, steering) when you apply. When DVLA inspected mine I had a
large (deliberatly) messy file of other repiepts that they didn't want to go through.

Thanks, but i think that these are 100mm lobro and i need 108mm type. I have considered using these and getting custom half shafts with different
splines at each end to convert from 108 to 100.
