wtd mx5 next project

hi

just looking round for a 1.8 mx5 for my next kit project, where is the best place to start looking, i keep looking on ebay and they all seem expensive for what i need.

Unless you see one local Ebay is the only option.

I think the idea is that you sell the bits you don't need. I was too chicken to do that, and spent far more than I should have on my MX5 based "kit".

Unless you've got a particular reason to want a 1.8 it's worth looking at 1.6's as they tend to be a bit cheaper.
They're also revvier, and the running gear weighs about 40kg less, which almost makes up for the power difference.

And like RK says, bear in mind that you can get an awful lot back selling the bits you don't need. I paid £500 for my donor, and made £700 back without really trying

It's also worth looking at local papers and their online equivalent. Ebay seems to be getting rid of a lot of potential sellers through their buyer-biased rules, and auto trader fees are quite high.

My city's local paper has an online presence that has all their classifieds listed. Bargainpages are also online although I don't know how far they cover.

Try mx5nutz and mx5oc forums.... but ebay is really the only place....
