Subaru Rear Diff. How strong?

Hi All,

I've got a Subaru Legacy rear diff/axle combo in my project.

Originally it was going to have a 2 litre Blacktop Zetec but I'd like to put something a bit torquer in there. Ford V6 or Rover V8 perhaps.

Anyone know how much power/torque these diffs can handle?

Ta in advance.

Martin

Scooby diffs are made of chocolate and it was only the little known secret of scooby.inc
swapping the diffs out with 20 year old seirra diffs that enabled them to win many world championships

I've not heard of widespread diff issues with the impreza, rather the 5 speed gearbox which is known to let go frequently particularly second gear if the engine is tuned to a significant extent (well over 300bhp) There are some LSV8 rear wheel drive conversions in impreza's, be interesting to find out how the diffs fair in those.
