What tyre pressures do you recommend?

Hi guys, just wondering what tyre pressures you run? If it helps, it's a Haynes roadster, with a zetec engine and 195/50/15 tyres, mainly road use.

Cheers

Adrian

I've got 195/50/R15 with 520kg total weight, and I run about 15psi (when cold) all round.

Still experimenting. I'm currently on 18psi front, 20 rear. 195/50/R15 MK Indy, Pinto, Type 9, Protech coil overs shocks etc

When i first tried driving the car after the front end rebuild it was truly awful. Talk about streering that didnt centre - this baby took twice as much effort to return the wheel to centre than to steer away from it plus the suspension felt rock hard and i knew it hadn't been setup that way. I really wondered what on earth could be so far out and started looking at camber, caster and toe in - whilst what i should have done was just check the tyre pressures first.

Clearly tyre centres dont seem to know whats normal for lightweight cars.

The O/s front was the only tyre near right as this was the only one that hadn't been touched. The others had all been reseated or replaced and were between 35 psi and 38psi. Dropping the pressures instantly made the car tractable and pleasant to drive.

Could there be a further improvement by dropping the pressures down to 15psi all round with this setup or is that mainly for BECs ?
