Bought F/glass repair kit...no instructions. Any ideas?
Hi,
as per title really. I have a hole in my bonnet (for air filter on pinto but since changed to zetec/bike carb). Was hoping to fill the hole with a
fibreglass repair kit, then bodyfiller the repaired hole and then going to wrap the car.
Can anyone walk me through the technique?
Thanks
Dan
EDIT: The kit comes with matting, resin and hardner. It's mixing the resin/hardener that I am most worried about.

Have a look on CFS website for a how to. It depends on temperature and how quick you want to
do the job. If you want the repair fairly flat to add filler put some cellophane over the top of the bonnet hole and then put the matting on from the
back and stipple the resin into it. After it sets peel the film off the front.

yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

If its a fastglas type kit, aim to use a pea sized blob of hardener to an eggcup of resin, or about 2% if its easier to work out!

Span the hole with gaffer tape, then back fill with matting and resin having a good overlap.
I would also be inclined to cut some v's and inch deep around the hole, as it increases the contact area and spreads the join so you do not end
up with an obvious filled hole.

Put an air scoop / vent on it
I'm addicted to brake fluid, but I can stop anytime.
