SKCC On Tour -

Well after an age of planning the SKCC Road Trip starts on Wednesday ( 2nd), 20 drivers are anxiously watching the weather forecasts and sending prayers to the weather Gods.

Blitzkieg 2012:
5 days 20 counties 1250+ miles

We kick off at Thurrock/Dartford for 5 days of sampling some of outstanding stretches of tarmac.
So if you're in or near any of these 'stop off's ' feel free to give me a shout for an evening beer or to join in for a stint.

Day 1 - Bridlington
Day 2 - Alnwick
Day 3 - Blackpool
Day 4 - Lanndrondid Wells
Day 5 - we go our seperate ways at Bensen nr Wallingford ( after which you may see 1-2 slightly dirty cars up at Stoneleigh, although the majority will head for home).

The remit was to stitch together as many good roads as we could and barring day 4 when we have to endure 80 miles of dual carriageway to get us into North Wales it looks like we've managed to plot some fantastic roads, with an average of 250 miles a day - giving plenty of time for ciggie + photo stops.

Any details of the route, I'm sure you will be coming past mine...

The weather forecast for the NE is to be dry after tonight with just a light shower Tuesday night, dry and sunny from then on.

Cozzer - here's the route (roughly )......barnard castle to stanhope ( for lunch) and then Hexham up towards Bellingham, Rothbury and if time permits Bamburgh - otherwise diving across to the Hotel in Alnwick.

steve, stanhope for approx 1pm for lunch, leaving 2-2.15. we've 137 miles to knock off from Brid to get to lunch, so my best guess is that the earlybirds will be there at 1 and the others will be a tad after.....depending of course on traffic. It's all B road stuff as ' fun isn't a straight line ' :-)
trying to recall the name of the pub in Stanhope........as you look at the map we come up from due south and hit the crossroads in teh centre, we turn right and the pub is a few hundred yds along on the right.

Let me know if its a 'goer' and i'll ping you my mobile.......

Presume your coming over the moors on the B6278, cracking road that one indeed

Just fixed my new diffuser on and glued the wind deflector on so should be good to go by tomorrow!

Forecast for Thursday is dry and sunny!
