I think I'm as confused as zilspeed! Are you asking a question? Are you just saying what you're going to do?

I think it's the vagueness of the question that we're having trouble with. For example, Fiesta's came with several different engine options. I guess you've also got a few options regarding gearboxes. The last point would be how much have you got to spend? You can make pretty much anything rear wheel drive if you have enough money, but at some point you'd cut your losses and take a more well-trodden route. I'd love to figure out how to get a VAG 1.8 turbo engine hooked up as a RWD, but with only a handful of cars using it I think I'm out of options to find out how.

Is there any particular reason why you want to go with an early Fiesta engine? In general trying to use things that you have 'lying around' can be more hard work than simply selling it on Ebay and buying a more convential engine. From searches on here I get the impression a Zetec to a Type 9 box is a fairly basic set up with no major issues.

You've also got 'trike' listed on your user description, that may make things more awkward.

It seems he wants to fit it in a trike that has a bike front end

Tiger sports cars Netherlands do a conversion kit to mate a V.A.G. 1.8 Turbo motor to a Type-9 Gear box, not cheap mind you.

vag to type 9 link

Some people can never handle the truth and always try to shoot the messenger instead of taking an honest look in the mirror (its always easier to blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!

sprocky, welcome to LCB. Whilst there is a wealth of information here, perhaps your needs would be better met if you looked on a trike building forum/club rather than a car building forum, see what others have built and how, then decide on what you actually want to do. Rather than snatch an idea out of the air.
It would help people to answer your queries, if you actually explained fully what you intend to do.
