Some feedback on suppliers

When I started my build (2 years ago) I found it hard to find out who was a pleasure and who it was a pain to deal with so I thought I would just add a quick topic with my experiences so that anyone searching can have an idea of how I found my dealings with different companies. I haven't put the bad ones as I can't be bothered to argue with people, all I will say is that certain companies have a bad reputation for a reason.

CPS Drivelink (2x Westfeild Megablade Driveshafts) (http://www.drivelink.com/contact_Drivelink.cfm)
Honestly I was blown away by there service, helpfullness and prices. They really restored my faith in the industry. Definitely contact for driveshaft stuff.

AB Preformance (Fireblade Engine, wheels, etc etc etc)
I don't know if Andy can receive any more praise but all I can say is that without him going above and beyond my project would have taken twice as long and cost twice as much

OBP (Fuel Tank)
Made a great tank, quickly and well priced

Bailey Morris (Propshaft)
Helpful, really quick and stuck to the quoted price.

Rally Design (loads of bits)
Pretty good, called when they didn't have bits in stock (very helpful) and their new website is much better. Pretty quick at sending things.

JJC Race and Rally (loads of bits)
Good prices but not quite as attentive as Rally Design, when they didn't have one small part they delayed the whole order without letting me know.

Aluminium Warehouse (all the ally sheet) (http://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/index.php)
Did exactly what they needed to do including sending a large lorry on a Saturday with my order.

Kamrick (Nuts and Bolts)
Expensive but good quality and service

AP Motorstore (fuel line, water tube etc etc)
Cheap and good stuff, fast delivery as well

Useful feedback there

btw, I would make an amendment to the list in your sig:

"The three questions to make your car Lighter:

Take any part and ask...

1) Do you really need it? If yes.....

1a) do you really really need it? If yes...

2) Can you make it out of a lighter material? If no....

3) Can you make it smaller? "

Good post: Except it's Namrick not Kamrick

Car Builder Solutions have been brilliant. The people there seem very switched on and their products are as described. Delivery is really good. I ordered something at 4.50pm yesterday and it was with the post this morning.

Others I like dealing with.

Namrick - nuts and bolts

Demontweeks - Car performance parts, cheap rubber bonnet catches!

Woolies - Trim

V8 tuner - Rover V8 parts, good honest advice

Memfast - Rivnuts and rivnut machine

Electromagic Static - home powder coater

Machine Mart - tools

Screwfix - Stainless fixings that are not load bearing

Frosts - Automotive restoration and more.

Never been able to find a decent automotive electrical supplier. Found some good ones but takes up to a week for delivery.
