Wishbone specs
I have been looking for the specs for all the wishbones so I can model them up and put them into the CAD assembly that I am busy with, but cannot find
any info anywhere.
Is there anyone prepared to help me with this, please? I need dimensions and mounting points on the chassis, if possible.
Many thanks,
Tony

You want the 2nd Edition Locost book then- as advertised on the front of this site.
Or here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1859606369/locostbuilder-21
Alternatively, in my photo archive there's a folder call bracket jig which has (I believe!) the correct dimensions for the brackets.
Cheers,
James

If he is building a larger lotus 7 variant wouldn't the Haynes Roadster be a better match for the Mcsorley 442 chassis, sorry if I have got this
wrong

I may be wrong, but I believe the 442 is 4" wider in the body and 4" longer in the cockpit- neither of which affect the wishbone brackets
placement. It's also 2" taller but I believe the 2" is added in 'above' the upper brackets and again has no effect on
bracket placement. But I'm remembering back a long time here!

James

James,
I believe we both did the same, i.e. added 4" to the centre of the car, so the whole car is wider.
I also believe that the 4-4-2, though wider in the body, uses a standard nose.
I therefore deduce that the engine bay must narrow more and that wish bones and their mounts
may not be the same.
Could be wrong, and frequently am.
Cheers,
