Under-Dash Cover

Is this needed for IVA or not? There are a number of conflicting threads on the subject.

Dash is a 'bought' one and therefore has the appropriate curvature at the bottom. Wiring is all secure, taped and tidy behind the dash.

Do I need to create a cover?

No reason for IVA other than it looks more proffesional leading to a better perception (possibly?) by the inspector.

There is a theoretical Horizontal plane from the bottom edge of the dash, everything above that place behind the dash is not tested (for radii etc).

Fair point on the better perception - although could work the other way and the inspector thinks you've got something to hide? lol

I might have to with draw the above acctually, Whilst the diagram shows the horizontal line from the bottom of the dash, I cant find any specfic wording to say that the area above the line is exempt. So for the sake of being sure, stick a panel in!

The inspector checked under the dash with the dome at my IVA, and was happy to find it panelled in.
Panelling removes all doubt.
I used the corrugated plastic sheet, you can buy it from craft shops, I got mine from the bottom of an Indesit washing machine.

I paneled mine in and the inspetor just took a glance and saw the panel. I cant help but think if there was no panel he would have got his sphere out as in an accident legs flail and its possible the area behind the dash could be contacted, in theory.
