There is some good free Kindle books on Amazon but they are buried under a whole heap of sweet smelling stuff.

Get back to Amazon, if you search for free kindle books you will find over 11,000 including many good thrillers. You can also download the app to turn
your normal tablet pc into a kindle - all free! my sort of price.

If you obtain books from elsewhere, each kindle account gets an email address. You can send the files to your kindle's email address and they
magically appear on it.
Everything is available if you know where to look, not that I'm endorsing it.

I read "War of the worlds " recently, freeby from Kindle. good read....
You dont have to pay too much for books, my last one was about Sir Edward Pellew, a right swashbuckler Navy captain in Nelsons day, only cost
£1.70....
Search the categories that interest you, then check the reviews for books that catch your eye.

For anybody interested in history the "A Very Brief History" series are worth a look, they are short books that give very concise
accounts of a subject, some are free and some you have to pay a small amount for.
My favourite freebie is the Diary of Samuel Pepys which I read a couple of pages of every now and again ... really interesting surprisingly funny
and sometimes quite smutty stuff.
My favourite paid for Kindle reads at the moment are the "Falco" Ancient Roman detective novels or the "Mclevy"
victorian Edinburgh detective, i also have a couple of Wallander' to read.

Calibre here is a great tool to have for a kindle too. You can use it to convert from one format to another and
then have it send the converted file to your kindle.
just convert to mobi files and your knidle will read it
You can also get Library books too.

The problem I have found with the free books for the kindle is a lot tend to be the first in a series of books and are such a great read I end up
buying the rest of the series.
Have done this a couple of time but as has been said there are loads of free book and the list of free stuff changes every hour. Just be careful as I
have ended up paying for books that were in the free list because the special offer expired before the list has been updated.
