Stolen from Pistonheads...

When? - Sunday August 25th, all day (and Saturday 24th, but no Sevens racing then). Racing starts at 12.15, with the provisional start time for the
Sevens 25 minute qualifying at 10.55 and the 40 minute race at 16.25.
What's on? A combination of the National Kit Car and Performance Show and the Classic Sports Car Clubs race meeting at Donington Park national
circuit featuring a full 36 car grid of the Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens including a factory entered R600, among many other races. You will notice
that the Classic Sports Car Club have racing action on both the Saturday and Sunday, however the Sevens are racing on the Sunday only.

The Magnificent Sevens series has been running for five years and continues to grow in popularity, with the intention that many of next years rounds
will have a split grid, allowing the lower powered class A, E and F cars to have their own race. The majority of the field are Caterhams, plus
Westfield, Tiger, Dax, Pulse, LoCost and others. You will also see front running Lotus Seven within the Swinging Sixties group 2 race which starts
around 15.30.
The CSCC races are longer than most, being 40 minutes in length with a mandatory pit stop. This allows two driver teams or even two driver and two car
teams to share the experience and cost.
How much? If you attend the Kit Car show in your Seven or other kit car the driver gains free entry (via the Museum entrance only) to the show which
is on the infield. You are then able to walk around the show and watch the racing all day from the infield. In addition a 50% discount has been
negotiated off of normal prices to access the famous museum, providing entrants show their kit car show or racing entry tickets before they pay at the
museum.

What isn't included? Your passenger (if you have one) will need to pay at a reduced rate of £10 if an adult or £5 for a child between the age of
5 and 15, free for under 5s.
If you want to access the show or watch the racing in your tin top (i.e not your Seven or kit car) you will need to pay the usual advance rate of £12,
or £15 on the gate (adult price).
If you want to get to the outside of the circuit to the paddock then regretably you will need to pay Donington circuit the full rate of £15 per
person, so best to watch from the infield (plenty of great spots to watch from).
You will be able to buy a race programme on the day for £3, written by my own fair hand (you'll have to be the judge of whether it's any
good!).

For those attending the kit car show Rhocar is undertaking a car revamp including engine change live in the main hall. A 1.6 pinto engines car is
being driven to the show and during the show the engine will be removed, a 2.0 pinto stripped refreshed and fitted and also the car will undergo a
vinyl wrap and wheel change and possibly more...

Are they actually letting you get to the infield because last time they had a combined event you could get to the show but not the track and visa
versa.
I think it was red or dead on track but the principple is the same, running 2 events simultaneously and trying to get people going to one of the
events to cough up to get to the other because they were already there.
Just seen this on donington website
Racing on the famous circuit – The Classic ports Car Club will be running races on the track all weekend, including the fantastic Magnificent 7s
Series for Lotus Seven lookalikes. Viewing is free for show visitors.
Frogive my previous cynicism but there is a precedent and I have a feeling this is what killed the show for a while.

They are letting you get to the infield of the track but not to the garages, I've got some spare race tickets though if anyone could do with a
couple?

Fantastic weekend, OK Saturday was a little overcast but the Hall was Full and the Afternoon Racing was great. CKC put on some quality evening
entertainment, the camping layout and facilities were first class, and as for Sunday the cars just kept on arriving. A big thank you to CKC and to all
those who participated, while last year was good, this year was better, roll on 2014.
Still putting up pictures on the MEV Owners Forum but if you're interested:-
