How much box section?

Sorry if this has been asked before. Done a search & could'nt find anything.

Just looking for a starting point to give me a rough idea of cost to build a Haynes chassis. How much box section should I need to order?

Cheers John

6 lenghts of 25x25x1.5mm ERW

2 lenghts of 19x19x1.5mm ERW

Lenghts tend to be 6m.

Or add up the numbers in the back of the book!

That's more what I was asking. Not bad at cutting, but realistically I'm not going to get every one right. I'm sure most people are the same.

So far I reckon I've wasted about a metre in offcuts, the only major cockups I've made were on the front part of the suspension as the measurements I had were wrong (too short!). Turns out it was a blessing in disguise as Phil at Talon described a much better way of putting it together.

I cut my pieces as I went, only doing two at a time where they are a matching pair on either side of the car.

I went for 6 x 25 and 2 x 19, as joneh describes.
