Very first Luego models

Does anyone know how to identify a very early Luego? I have one with Sterling on the log book which Luego tell me is a very early model made by one of the founder members?!? Any ideas?

Luego rose from the ashes following the demise of Locost Ltd., the business Ron Champion was involved with. As such the early cars were all Ron Champion "book" Locosts until the arrival of the Velocity and Viento. The name Sterling was probably chosen by the original builder at the time of registration, as is/was the case with many Locosts.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I spoke with locost themselves and aparrently Sterling was the name of one of the founders hence the name on the logbook so wasnt anything to do with the original private builder.

Not strictly correct, Luego produced an I.R.S version of the Locost before the arrival of the Velocity, the Velocity XT
and the Viento.

A picture sounds good, it would be interesting to see an early luego.

I really like that :-)

It has a different style rollbar to any luegos I have seen & quite high rear bodywork.

It has a real nice period look to & I bet it sounds nice.

From your pictures it looks very much like an early formula 27. Mine was built around 1995 and is a "sterling" f27. Sterling refers to sterling automotive who sold the kit at the time.

Thank you very much for your response. I've looked at lots of images on google and I think you're right about it being a formula 27 and makes sense with the "Sterling" name too. I'm really chuffed to finally know what it its.
Thanks.
