X20XEV cam cover breathers

What should I do with the two breather connections on the cam cover?
Theres 2 of them, an 8mm one and an 18mm one. Why is there 2? Should I just fit a mini filter to each? I read somewhere about blanking off the small one, and running the big one to a hose down the back of the engine to the ground. I assume they really mean to a catch tank... or both to a catch tank? My carbs air box has a small hose tail in the back, but I dont want gunk getting in there.

Where's good for a small cheap catch tank if thats the way to go?

No you don't!

This is on a 4500 mile engine, and according to the interweb, not unusual for an engine with PCV.
I am going to fit one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORSA-ASTRA-C20LET-Z20LET-GSI-VXR-SRI-TURBO-ALUMINIUM-OIL-CATCH-TANK-CAN-/400598336343?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM& amp;hash=item5d45858357

But it may have been, in an earlier life
My photo is a ZX9R engine, the crank vents to the air box, the crap behind the inlet valves is normal on an engine that vents into the air box, when I searched the interweb about it Audi engines are particularly bad, apparently.

Breather

Hi
I run the C20XE this engine has been running with no problems, as in the picture or you can run a pipe from the large port to a oil catch tank which is how I have mine now. Just block the little one off.
Also recommend doing the modification to the inside of the rocker cover as shown on the SDB website it improves oil return and less oil out of breather.

PERSEVERANCE is the word of the week. Stick with it the results are SWEET.

Big pipe down to a oil catch tank. Small one blocked.

That's what I did on my xe and now doing on my z20let which has the same head and Camcover as yours.

The breather mod doesn't exist for the x20xev like it does for the c20xe.

Same tank as the one 40Inches posted but cheaper. They aren't the lightest tanks but they are nice.
