Can you recommend somebody for cylinder head work?

Hi all,

Unfortunately Geoff Dodd, of Autosprint has had a stroke, and isn't taking on any major head work.

So, can anyone recommend any company that can do my 6 cylinder Mercedes cylinder head, and regrind my camshafts?

It's twin cam, but 12 valves.

I'd prefer somebody fairly local to me, within 70miles/1.5 hours drive, of Matlock/Chesterfield.

The work I want doing is as follows, porting, bigger valves if possible, uprated valve springs, and the camshafts reground.

I'm looking at a fast road spec, but at the top end of that verging on race spec, if that makes sense.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Frank.

Frank,
I've a die grinder and a set of carbide burrs etc you can use. You can make decent gains on a diy basis without going mad. I'd do it for you if I wasn't flat out with everything else!! Speak to Piper / Kent / Newmans etc about regrinds

Cheers Nick,
I just don't seem to have the time to do it.
I've got a couple of spare engines, so I was thinking of pulling the head off of one and getting it done ready for doing the EFI conversion later this summer.
Just to save time and try and get it done sooner.

Fetch a spare head up and we'll have a look at it.
