Momo Steering wheel and QR adaptor

I have two more items I no longer need for my new build. Please note the two items ARE NOT currently compatible i.e. this wheel will not fit this QR adapter.

The first is a Momo type 26 steering wheel. It is the 280mm size with a black leather finish. It has been drilled for a 3 bolt 'formula' style steering boss. It is used and has some minor marks as shown in the pictures (the flash makes the marks look worse than they are) but no tears on the rim at all. Cost over £150 new and I am looking for £50 plus postage.

The second item was to go on my Striker but that is now for sale as I have bought a newer Striker kit. The new kit comes with a similar column already so this is now surplus to requirements.

Its a Mk2 Escort column with the outer removed. The weak Escort bearings have been replaced by two 'pillow block' bearings that are MUCH smoother and have no play in them at all

To the end of the column is a go-race Circuit Series QR shaft and Boss. This may not be a 'big name' QR but it has zero play, is correctly coloured (for circuit use they are supposed to be yellow so marshals can see them) and has a location pin so it always goes on in the correct position. I like it so much my new car will have exactly the same QR

The bearings and QR unit are all brand new, never used or been on a car. All that is needed, and if the weather was warmer I would do it now but its too cold to paint in my workshop, is a quick rub down and a fresh coat of paint.

It cost me well over £150 in parts alone plus it has been professionally welded together, I would like £75 plus postage.

Any questions about either item then please u2u

QR Boss and column now sold subject to payment.

I will do the steering wheel for £50 including postage or else it goes on ebay?

160cm..... (gets tape measure out) That's a hell of a long steering column!

On the Escort (and Striker, Fury, Phoenix et al) from the end of this column there is a UJ link straight down to the steering rack. For the Striker its this link that is extended by about 300mm (that's from an 18 year old memory) with a link from an Austin Allegro of all things!

Sierra based cars (which is what my new Striker is) are a little different. The top part of the column is shorter and the link down to the rack is much longer.

No reason though why this shaft couldn't be cut and welded with a bit of suitable tube to make it longer though. Personally I would want it done by a professional welder....not something you ever want to break

Mine has a Sierra column
Why are you not modifying the column to fit yours

My new car will have a QR boss with electrical connections to get the 8 buttons on the steering wheel working. Its easier to start with a 'virgin' column that try and modify this one to that level

I've had a long hard think & it is most probably easier for me to buy the adaptor then modify mine

Thanks

Now both on ebay ending tonight.

The Momo wheel is currently going for a bargain 99p...the next cheapest leather wheel on ebay is £176

The steering column and shaft is here and is also going for a lot less than its worth and is all brand new other than the mk2 escort column!
