Saw this on the ad:

5. In 2006 it turned over approx. £200,000, but, due to the recession and poor management by the previous owner those figures have not been repeated since. And due to the current management it has turned over absolutely nothing. So a big smack in ones own face I think!

6. You are not going to buy this company for a few hundred pounds! This is a good opportunity to buy a company and make money, be serious about your bidding.I think you probably will actually, because in reality, there isn't actually a business!

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, of course!

Simon

Anybody could buy and sell a few cars or anything for that matter, turn over £200,000 and make nothing or a loss even. Could still be worth a few quid though. Good luck!!!!

There is no business to buy, he is selling a website, some moulds and jigs, and a database of names of people who will have found alternate suppliers, and would never return to whatever the name is. Including that database probably contravenes the DPA....

If its such a good business why is it dormant....

Absolutely, that is a massive breach. That alone would be enough to stop the sale, and get them in very big trouble.

I'm disappointed with the cynicism displayed in this thread. I have seen many a good and reputable company sold via eBay...

I suggest you do various searches here and elsewhere to research said reputable company and see what people had to say about it.

What to lose

There is a 14 day refund policy, what have you to lose??

I guess the ellipsis at the end of my original sentence didn't convey my sarcasm as much as I intended.

I am aware both that they are not a reputable company, and that eBay is not the normal medium for the marketing and sale of whole business entities!

I really didn't bother going that deeply into it - £1200 for some knackered moulds, worn out jigs and a database of p*ssed off people? I'm afraid I'm out

Out of curiosity, did anyone on here bid/win the auction? Or is admitting that akin to smothering your crown jewels in pedigree chum and punching a hungry Doberman in the face? *

£2k for the moulds, jigs etc - maybe not all that bad if they are in good nick.... The contacts/website is pretty much valueless in my mind, as too many have already had their fingers burned in the many incarnations that business has had, but maybe a cheap way to set yourself up as a kit car manufacturer.

"""The white car is a wider version of the Panther to allow for bigger people and for the American market the use of V8 engines, this car is known as the W7DE"""

surely should read:

The white car is a wider version of the Panther to allow for the bigger people in the American market and the use of V8 engines, this car is known as the W7DE

The thought occurs, maybe the buyer is someone who has been waiting for parts and just want's to finish his/her car.
