R1 Barnett Clutch Install

Hi all,

Just about to start installing a Barnett pressure plate onto my R1 4XV Indy and I have a query.

How much do you have to do the springs up on the pressure plate? It says to do them till they bottom out then 5-6 lbsft extra

But I think the springs will just keep on pulling down until they are solid and it doesn't seem right.

Any suggestions/experience from anyone.

Many thanks

Chris

Put a kit in my honda blackbird engine the other day and I had to do like you say, tighten the bolts until they bottom out then just pinch them up a bit.
My springs were very tight but not completely compressed.

Bolts pulling the springs down go into blind hole and they bottom out before the springs become coil bound
