recommend me an impact wrench
I'd like to get a battery-powered impact wrench, mainly for the convenience when undoing wheel nuts. There is a HUGE variation in price
though... what do people recommend?
I'd like it not to be too heavy to hold, but not too weedy at undoing stuff either. And not too expensive, but willing to spend a bit if
necessary.

Snap on are excellent if you have the funds
If not,a sealy 1/2 drive one has plenty of balls and battery last well
Ive removed hub nuts with it
I paid about £60 off ebay

Snap-on is def out of budget I think, although tempted to get a second hand one and buy a new battery. Makita might be just about in budget, but I
don't know if I really need to spend that much - I'm not going to use it every day after all.

Our mechanics at work have the snap-on impact wrenches and swear by them. Better than a air windy gun.
Although very expensive. A green one was going for £360 on the bay the other day.

I have a Makita BTW251Z Max Torque : 230Nm but it struggles with tight wheel nuts 
So I would go for this one next time BTW450Z Max Torque: 440Nm or better still the snap on one which I think is around 550Nm

Wheel nuts are just beyond the capacity of most cordless guns.
B&Q sell a MacAllister 1/2" drive gun with 2 batteries for £99. It works fine and is very controllable.
I had one for 3 years before the barteries fail.

Latest Mac impact gun uses De-Walt 18v lithium batteries so you won't get raped when new batteries are needed, it's also more powerful
than
The snap on at 800Nm.....top dollar though, our kid just got an ex demo one for £350 off ebay.
I had a cheap one from machine mart, complete waste of money, save up and buy a snap on or mac. 
Just had a look on macs website, it's actually 1050 Nm

I bought a milwaukee impact gun. Similar spec to the snapon but at a nicer price. There is also a huge range of other tools you can get that use the
same batteries.
