Noisy bleeder!

Hi,

I'm after a bit of advice again but this time involving Cadwell noise limits. I have a Megabusa with an open sausage airfilter but a big westfield exhaust silencer, what are my chances of making of making through the sound test based on other people's experience? Are there driveby mics at Caddy?

What has it read at previous tracks? Cadwell is a 105db static circuit but I believe also has drive-by meters. Not been there for a while so can't say where or how keen they are.

Last time I was there I had my old silencer on that usually came out around 100db static and had no problems but I have an air box so not as much induction noise as you'll have.

Never had it noise tested as the car is new to me, never done Cadwell either, despite it being one of my local tracks! Personally I think it will be close to the limit but ok, don't plan on pushing too hard as it will be more to get a feel for circuit and handling characteristics ready for a bit of setup work.

I have a fairly standard 5" Westfield exhaust on my 2009 Megabusa, I was measured at the trackside last Sunday at 87dB (Kames). The expandable wadding is doing it's job as last year I was exceeding the 105bb static limit (App on my phone). Only got away with it as Forrestburn and Knockhill failed to test me last year. My phone app and the trackside meter appear to agree. Best of luck. I don't know about the drive past test I have never seen one at a track in Scotland.

Cadwell doesn't have drive by limits - http://www.clubmsv.co.uk/car-home/trac kday-confirmation/oulton-park-car-trackday-confirmation/noise-limits

So just check the day you are going on.

If it's local then give them a call and pop down when they have another trackday on and i'm sure they'll be happy to test your car.

I have a fireblade 919 engine and did Cadwell with a sausage filter and no issues.
