Polo Radiator fixing measurments

Hi,

Having done some research into the radiator for my Fury I wonder if someone could do me a favour and measure their Polo radiator fixing points?

Reason is, I was told the Fury mounting points are to accept a mk2 Polo radiator (85-90. 1.1-1.3 number 171.121.253 CF or CJ) which has a core dimension of 430x 320 however I also know that the person who collected their chassis before me had his mounting points in the wrong location.

The measurements I have for the chassis are in the picture below, 460mm centres x 180 centres. I want to know if the Rad details I have will fit properly without me having to make up some brackets?

Maybe of no use (different size rad). Polo MK1 fixing centres are 414 x 180.

Thanks Smoking Frog,

The Mk1 will be no good then. I was hoping someone with a Mk2 rad would send in the dimensions, I know there are loads with them fitted.

Some Ebay auctions have the measurements on the pictures, for example;

VW POLO 1.7 1.9 SDI 96-99 MANUAL RADIATOR NEW

Although I think the width is measuring the wrong thing? I'll see if I can find another.

I've got this one (1983-1990):

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281080612617?ssPageName=S TRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

The mounting holes are approx 415x180mm apart.

Yes i've seen these but it doesnt really tell you the mounting point dimension but does give you a rough idea of the width

I guess this is the one I have seen quoted for the 1ltr where as I think the one I need is for the 1.1 to 1.3 ltr and looks like it has a smaller core

I've had 2x polo radiators. Same model, but different brand. The spacing of the pegs on the bottom were slightly didn't. Around 6mm overall. I ended up having to modify the bottom brackets to be able to fit the replacement radiator

I won't be using the bottom pegs, I will be using the holes on the sides to attach to the vertical uprights on my chassis which is why I am after the measurements.

Go onto www.northernradiators website. They used to have all the dimensiond on there. And they were cheap.

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.
