non lsd to lsd

I've been offered a 7" sierra 4x4 lsd
What else will I need to fit this in place of my non lsd?
Thanks in advance

Are you drum or disc at the moment?

You'll need drive shafts (complete) and depending on the number of splines on your tripods, you may need new hub carriers.

I'll post a picture when I get on a pc later.

If your going Lobro (bolt on) to Lobro ( bolt on) nothing straight swap
If its a push fit diff on the car and a bolt on LSD, it can be done by modifying the shafts but not easy to get the right bits

Thanks guys
Trying to take it all in, mechanics aren't really my thing
I have discs on my car, but I don't know if bolt on or push in shafts. Only bought it last week, and not had chance to look it over properly yet
I've not driven the car yet, other than round the block, so not sure if lsd is really necessary. Car is for predominantly track use though.

If your going on the track then you'll need an LSD, the last thing you want is one wheel spinning up coming out of a corner and sapping all your power

Unless you have a lot of power, you may be ok with some sticky tyres and an open diff.

If you have discs on rear its most likely you have Lobro (bolt on) drive shafts and the diff will most likely be for bolt on shafts
2 Ford LSD's were common 3.62 & 3.9 for 7" diff and 3.64 for 7 ½" diff
The 3.9 was found on the 2L DOHC 4x4 the 3.6 on the V6

But, lots of folk run disc conversions to their drum set-ups, so I wouldn't be quite as confident of the above.

Post up a picture of both ends of a driveshaft, and the rear upright.

Pretty sure they are bolt on. So if so a straight swap?

The balance of probability is if discs fitted more likely to be standard not conversion
Whilst I take the comment in to account the odds are in my favour
