Need help with my propshaft

Hello,

I have had the UJ fail on my car which in turn has twisted the end of the prop shaft slightly and ruined the coupling that attaches to the dif and the joint that's welded to the end of the shaft.

However the shortened propshaft has a brand new UJ at the gearbox end which is fine (much thicker and stronger too)
Now my plan is to cut the old joint and coupling off at the end that goes into the dif.

Then get a spigot machined into each section so they sit square into each other then simply weld a new end on and get it balanced.

Now my struggle is knowing what UJ and propshaft I should be looking for from a donor vehicle?
It's all from a 1983 sierra, am I right in saying that propshaft a from mk2 capris or escorts etc which look the same in pictures, may well be the same?
As the coupling that bolts into the sierra dif may have different bolt patterns? Or are all fords generally the same bolt patterns?

Cheers again people!

The general consensus with propshafts is to get one made. I've bought a couple. The last one was £115 delivered and took two days to come. Tell them the gearbox, the diff and the length between the two and a brand new one turns up balanced and ready to go.

Agreed
By they time its balanced by a prop specialist and having had a failure, you want to get one made to your application

It was Autoprop:

I think others will be similarly priced.
