Raising bonnet

Hi everyone I'm looking for a couple of strips of plastic or alloy to raise my nose cone and my bonnet from the chassis as the bonnet is touching my cambelt ,I'm looking for about 2x 1.5 metres long and about 30 mm width and 15-18 mm thick I've tried every ware from BBQ ,wicks and even a plastics place but no joy

As above use box section alli. It's really light and strong. You could cover in carbon on spray same colour as your body. Are you raising the scuttle as well ? Otherwise the bonnet won't fit to it.

Or use a bonnet bulge or scoop save a lot of messing about? Plus the come in carbon so you don't need to paint etc.

I used ali channel with the open side towards the chassis rail. Got it from B&Q or wickes its normally kept with their steel box/angle iron and other ally sections you have to go in store though they dont show it online. But as normal with B&Q and its a bit of a rip off for what you get.
Cheers,
Bob
