Is it just a collection of expensive parts? Where's the heritage? Built in 2003 on a 1953 Bentley chassis. Rich man's kit car? I do like it, don't think it deserves the price tag though. Maybe I'm missing something???

Petersen has built quite a few replicas.
linky
AFAIK providing the major components are genuinely period the cars are classed as historics so can enter appropriate races/rallies.
The Trossi was on this years' GP Nuvolari but scratched after the first day with electrical problems - long way to go to find out there are gremlins in the electrics!
Having said that in the flesh it's a stunning, impressive, almost fugly car and the paintwork so deep you could almost dive in a swim around in it.
Cheers, Pewe10 .
