Garage roof help

Hi Guys,

Any DIY experts out there?

The garage roof is made from overlapping PVC sheets that are secured from the outside with plastic pegs with a hole in the middle and 4 'legs' so when a plastic pin is pushed through the hole the legs splay out and lock the peg in position. On their own they are quite weedy but when used over the whole roof seem pretty strong and survived all the gales last year fine. Under the head of the peg there is a soft sealing washer to help seal the peg to stop water getting in.

When I assembled the roof I used a sealant over each of the peg heads to seal them, which has generally been fine but I have always had a few weeps and drips. Now some of the original sealant appears to have failed and peels off easily so I am after recommendations for a replacement.

I have seen various 'grab' adhesives that may do the job as they are suitable for outdoors and are weather proof - one in the Machine Mart catalogue and one seen in B&Q called Sika Sikadur (should be on an Indian Take-away menu!!). The last one is a 2 part stuff that needs a special nozzle and is mixed as it is pushed out, but the reviews are mixed.

I think the problem is getting something to bond to hard plastics so any other ideas or would a grab type adhesive be best?

P.S. this is the garage I'm building the car in so is a priority!!

PU adhesive from toolstation is cheap and good.
There are plenty of good adhesives out there, Sika is a proper branded version (in fact they make a huge variety, and cover every eventuality, but you can easily get confused!)
I have also used Polysulphide adhesives, but I have forgotten why now! They have worked well, as have the PU stuff as I haven't had to reseal anything for ages.....
