Blatant ringer in a showroom...

MK INDY 2010

Shame as it looks a nice MK, despite its Dutton chassis!!

Who's gonna call the rozzers?

Lets be honest..
Who ever takes that on the road will need specialist insurance..
In the event of an accident the examiner will be expecting to see a Dutton..
Chances are you will not be insured and if you injure someone - be sued to high heaven..
Kind of outrageous .. Get it IVA'd

this was the response I got when I asked about the reg!!

Hi , i asked this question when i took it in px against my Ducati 999 this was his response ;
Dear 6r4karl,Hi KarlI'm not an authority to comment on iva tests unlike everyone else seems to be on these forums. The car has always been on a dutton base .this is stated in the logbook. The car was mot'd and taxed for road use. The previous owner drove it on the road and i bought it without an iva test and sold it without one I've just had a quick look an iva test for this vehicle would be voluntary Regards Alex- alex1972staffords
hope this helps.
Karl.

You would have thought that someone in the motor trade would know what a ringer was

Looking at the pictures, that is clearly not a Dutton chassis. I suspect the only Dutton parts are the chassis plate and the V5

Thing is, that Ford Dutton Honda MK Indy is not only uninsurable in the real sense, and hence a liability to everybody...

Is it also a historic? I note what appears to be a 1973 plate.
If so - this is also tax fraud.

If this is a dealer, he needs to exhibit some professionalism. He also needs a spell in jail.

yeah, but he knows that if he acts the daft laddie he's got a good chance of making his money back and then it'll be someone else's problem

your meant to be able to send the details to the DVLA for cloned / ringed cars (by letter or fax only as if we were still in 1988 ) but I suspect that just exits into a small blackhole in Swansea......

This really does none of the classic or kit car enthusiasts any good whatsoever.

When this 'thing' kills a child, national press will get on their hobby horse.
Our insurances will all go up to cover the threat that such vehicles pose.

I see the seller has removed the item from sale. Hopefully he will either register it correctly or advertise it as a track car and not claim it to be something which it clearly is not!

From what he said in reply about the iva situation I think he's already sold it.

Yup, that car has been around for a while in various forms.
I took the pic on the earlier post back in 2002 and it was the MK demonstrator with a Fireblade engine fitted. That is our first Locost next to the MK after its SVA
When I saw the title of this thread I just knew it would be this car again.....
