Sylva Striker Project
2015 is life laundry year for me, and the Striker clearly isn't going to get finished so it's time to move it on. This is a correctly
registered Sylva Striker on a Q plate with the correct VIN plate and I have the V5. No IVA/SVA required.
Pictures on Photobucket.
I bought the car without an engine from someone who sprinted it (therefore it has a full cage), but to say he had made a mess of the wiring and the
braking system would be a huge understatement. The pedal box was literally beyond redemption, it looked like swiss cheese with so many random holes
drilled in it, and a very dangerous bias bar conversion had been made using a piece of M6 stud as the bias bar, cunningly shaped like a banana. The
pedalbox is part of the chassis on the Sylva, so I cut this out and fabricated a replacement. At the same time I swapped the Escort column (which
appears perfectly designed to spear you in the chest) with a Sierra column.
The engine is a 1600 crossflow with a big valve, ported head and a Kent BCF3 cam. It had new followers, timing chain, big end and main bearings etc.
However, it has never been run since it was built. It comes with a tidy set of 40 DCOEs on a short manifold with a new linkage, and a tatty pair of
ITG filters. It has a new clutch, a Ford Type 9 box and a modified RS2000 alloy bellhousing. This is the live axle car with a Ford English axle
(diff ratio unknown).
As you can see from the pictures, the bodywork and interior is tatty to say the least, but it is complete. The bonnet is the worst, and has a crack
around the exhaust cut-out that will need to be patched, and obviously it will need to be painted unless you like the rat look. The two part Raw
Striker bonnet and nose will also fit if you prefer to replace it.
The car comes with a full set of wet weather gear in excellent condition and which fits over the cage. The chassis was powered coated yellow which
has come off in places. The black patches in the pictures is simply a zinc rich anti-corrosion paint I put on to stop rust.
My workshop is piled high with crap, and I've not found everything that I will let go with the car yet, but here is a list:
Things I definitely have
A pair of Intatrim Odyssey seats. These are unused and have been stored in my attic all wrapped in plastic, so they are literally like new.
A nice offset leather steering wheel with a quick release (the original two pin type). Again, never used.
An unused Premier Wiring loom for the Sierra switchgear.
A brand new, uncut Raw Striker dashboard.
A full set of new Caerbont (RMD branded) clocks including sensors (Speedometer, Tachometer, Oil pressure, Coolant Temperature and Fuel Level).
A new crossflow exhaust manifold for a Seven style car.
A Kawasaki ZXR12 exhaust manifold and silencer
A new remote oil filter fitting kit (the adapter plate is fitted to the engine, and there is an oil cooler fitted in front of the radiator).
A new clutch master cylinder, and a coaxial clutch slave for the Type 9 (not fitted).
Most of a very large sheet of alloy (3000mmx1500mm, just under 10ftx5ft) to remake any panels required.
A new set of Willwood allot four pot callipers for the Ford Escort uprights, plus new discs
A new set of alloy front hubs and bearings.
A floor mounted pedal box (After seeing someone fit a floor mounted pedal box to their Fury on LCB, I wanted to go this was as well).
An Odyssey Redtop battery (a few years old and never used, but I charge it every couple of months).
A box full new rear brake parts (new slave cylinders etc.).
Some lengths of alloy tube and silicone hose for the cooling/breathing system.
A universal throttle cable kit.
A load of random xflow spares including a new water pump (also new one fitted to engine when it was built).
Things I have, but haven't yet found
A new set of four point harnesses.
Really nice fabricated alloy header tank and oil catch tank.
Ford EDIS, Coil and an unfinished Megajolt (complete working PCB requires mounting in alloy box which I have). The car has an electronic distributor
fitted.
A brand new high torque geared starter motor.
I'd like £2000 for the car and all the above goodies, but offers welcome. Scootz has first refusal as I mentioned I was selling this quite a
while back.

Due to popular request I have added a load of pictures to the Photobucket
link in the first post showing the rear axle, fuel tank and underside of the car.
If anyone wants to have a look at the car in the next few days let me know (assuming someone hasn't put the money in my hand before then!)
Also, FWIW all the tyres have loads of tread and no cracks etc. on the sidewalls, though they are fairly old so they might not be the best
performing.
