Engine choice - Italian?

Hello gents. I've built a CEC before, but haven't monkeyed with bikes since CZs were competitive motocrossers! Am planning a middie build using bodywork off an old Abarth, and I'm torn between three possibilities: A traditional R1, Something fancier like a VFR1200, or sticking with the Italian theme and trying something from that part of the world. I'd love to hear feedback from the UK side of the pond.

I'd like to do a direct connection via a Guibo if possible. I know that limits my gearing possibilities, but I've got a line on a diff with a 3.1 ratio, so that shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks in advance!

Very would be a good shout as the enguine is a turbine in the bike, you can get the dtc box at well that might be interesting if it worked.

If you want a twist how about a rsv4 lump, very unable and the noise is awsome

Comes at a price though

True, but the USA 7s group is largely a recitation of the same old suspects - R1, Hayabusa, ZX1400. I'll probably have to write off the VFR option because they haven't sold well, there are precious few around, and so far, none in the wrecking yards. But the Italian option is still in the air. The RSV4 sounds lovely, but in addition to the price of entry, I don't know how much of a headache it would be to get and keep running.

The original SDR V-Storm (Arial atom three seater exo-car) used an Aprilia RSVR 1000cc Twin in the rear mounted across the frame connected to a RWD diff via a donut. I think this is similar to what you are thinking.

Also the short lived Fisher Menace also used a similar set up but with a very short propshaft connecting a bike engine (mounted in the passenger seat) to a Sierra diff. Finally the MEV Atomic had the same set up as well but with a slightly longer, shirt prop shaft.

Worth checking out pictures of these for inspiration.
