Angle cutting
Hi All,
Can anyone who's used a wood cutting mitre saw modified to take an abrasive metal cutter reccomend a decent cutter and blade combination?
Is there a decent cheapish chop saw available that will cut compound angles?
Also where can i find a mitre attachment frame for an angle grinder?
I need to go out and buy some stuff today and need to be able to cut tubes quickly cause i'm doing them at work!!!

Miter box
Hi Matt:
I had a miter saw for trim carpentry that I used. Just a simple, 10" saw. The abrasive wheel I used was bought at my home improvement store.
Neither are anything sprecial and both worked well.

Once you cross over from making simple cuts to compound cuts, a band saw is much, much better.

I got the one from Harbor Freight, on sale at $140. Regular price is $170 or so. It's the horizontal/vertical saw, 4"x6" capacity.
It has it's limits, but it helped build my car.

i got a band saw from machine mart. its a nice quiet tool, but tricky to keep the blade vertical - it seems to wander. believe it or not, i might do
them all by hand next time.
Beware! Bourettes is binfectious.

OK I've just bought a compound mitre saw from B&Q for 26 quid and a metal cutting disk for about 4 quid. It's only 750W but does the
job perfectly! I had to modify the disk hub slightly to take the cutting disk. Turned it down from 24mm to 22. Just the job - Plenty of sparks!

I had a hard time with my compund miter saw. straight 90 cuts would come out fine, but when I added an angle the wheel would flex slightly giving me
unpedicatble results. The way I solved it was to use 2 blades side by side, which wasn't too safe as I did have a few unexpectatly explode on
my, luckily I was wearing thick gloves each time. The 2 blades did however solve the disk flex problem.

Please could you show a picture? I don't visualize what you talk about.
I will soon make the choice between square and round tube, each one has got advantages, I will chose the most easy solution, I'm not for the
last 2 kg.
