Breather type 9 gearbox
Hi,
My type 9 gearbox starts leaking oil from the propshaft input and the speedo output.
First of all before taking the engine out I need to see if the gearbox breather/ventilations is working.
The problem is, I have no idea where the breather hole should be? Could anybody show me on a picture where to find it?
THANKS!

If you have the original cover plate on your gearbox, it should have a bump / dome pretty much in the middle of it. This should have a small hole in
it. This is your breather......
Always biting off more than I can chew.....

I had exactly the same problem with my type 9. I had enough space to bend a paper clip and feel across the lid. I unblocked the tiny hole at the top
of the dome in the centre of the lid and it stopped leaking.

Is it this little dome? There should be a little hole in this?

Yep..... Looks like your lid has been modified and a breather pipe fitted....

Found the hole, unfortunately it wasn´t blocked so I have to take the engine out and change sealings.
