Toyota engine no. - proving age for IVA
Morning Guys
A customer of mine is going to IVA shortly, but having difficulty getting proof of engine age, he has V5 of original Toyota MR2 Mk1, but I know they
won't accept that as proof as obviously engine could have been changed - I've spoken to Toyota who were most helpful last time I needed to
prove this back in 2008, but now, due to the age of the vehicle would you believe! they no longer carry engine no. information, only chassis
no.'s so they can't confirm this is the engine originally fitted to that chassis.
I have a letter from them back in 2008 confirming age of engine no. 4AGE 1148766 as being 21/1/88, his engine no. is 4AGE 1227660, car registered on
1/1/89 I'm wondering if anyone on here has a letter of confirmation from Toyota for a similarly aged engine, such that we could back up the
information we currently have
Anyone got any other ideas for proving engine age?
Thanx in advance, Russ
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

To the best of my knowledge the engine was last used in the Corolla? In around 91/92, but how can you prove that for IVA purposes, I know they usually
ask for a letter from the manufacturer (which is no longer available). I have one, for a slightly earlier engine, what I need is one for a slightly
later engine to prove that his comes in between!

Bump - surely someone else has had to prove engine age on a 4AGE?
