Transporting a kitcar, options ?

I am looking at a Kitcar and need to find a way of getting it from a2b.

It's around 125 miles away.

It's not mot'd so driving it is not an option. It's been laid up for a while So a 125 mile mot trip isn't going to happen.
I have a tow car (Mondeo) and I have a class 1 or c+e licence. But the Mondeo is rated to tow 1650kg. This is plenty for a trailer and kit but the two trailers I can hire / borrow will be platted at 2700kg.

I must be getting old but with vosa being so on it I don't fancy the risk.

Any one used a service like Shipley or the guys found on eBay ? Or even the AA.
Looking for recommendations and experience good or bad.

I am near Spalding Lincs if you want the job or wants to lend or hire a more suitable trailer

Cheers

I've used Shipley to move vehicles on a couple of occasions and have found the people and companies doing the shifting to be prompt, courteous and professional. I'll certainly use them again if the need arises.

You are welcome to use my trailer (although I am not on your doorstep). I have debated mine to work with my car so it is plated for 1190kg.

Thanks for the very kind offer but it looks like I've been beaten to the finish line.

For future reference have a look at www.anyvan.com they were recommended by some one on here and I used them to fetch a car from Cambridge to Carlisle. It was cheaper than going both ways ourselves and saved a day on the road.
Simply type in the details and post codes then select from the decreasing bids.
My daughter is using it for a flat move as it is as cheap as hiring a van but brings extra muscle and insurance
