Gunk green engine degreaser

I bought an mot'd "running driving" series 3 landy the other week, wasnt supposed to be a project, but of course, its a landy.

Engine is filthy, transfer case leaks oil, so was going to clean up the hand brake drum, new shoes, and new oil seal, and thinking to clean it up with a lovely bath in petrol. Maybe red diesel since I have a bit left around from hir7ng an excavator years ago. Engine and chassis need a good clean too

Came across this
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/engine-cleaner-degreaser/gunk-green-engine-degreaser

You mustnt wash oil into drains, definitely.
Gunk and jizer always ueed to say spray on the engine, hose off. So it gets washed away. Bad
This green stuff says its biodegradable, says to me safe to be washed away into drains? Bad? Maybe? Maybe ok? Im confused
Does it break the oil does enough to make it safe or something?
Any thoughts?

Think the cleaner is biodegradable, but the oil and grease you dissolve will not be.

Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

I wasnt overly impressed with gunk when it was orange in the olden days.

Petrol/white apirit does the job with a bit of scrubbing.

Any photos of the landy?

Remember it are the oil leaks that preserve the lamdy!

this link should work!

its not in too bad condition, chassis is still painted in many areas. not brush painted with black, but looks original? only found 2 or 3 small patches needed so far! bulkhead is decent, but the hinge pillars and top corners needs something done to them. might just patch them up for now, fix properly with repair panels later once i understand how it all goes together better.
I think one of the last owners was going for a camel trophy look, so its been badly painted with spray cans from halfords, no masking up done. so i've spent a bit of time getting some of the ugly off it lol. want a pickup roof (obviously ) and either go back to its original marine blue, or maybe RAF blue.
got a load of parts in which i hope to have on today, and that should sort most of its running issues.

its got a 200tdi engine in it, and the installation isn't great, so hopefully i can tidy that up a bit easily enough. i does run and drive ok though, but the breather hose is missing and has blown oil everywhere, hence the need to clean it up so i can actually see everything

was supposed to be running driving and useable straight away though
