Damn, Damn, and damn again.......

Well, not very happy is an understatement.

Just got the engine running after turbo conversion and I think the head gasket has failed. Started her up and ran like a bag of nails so immediately stopped and whipped out the plugs. Cylinders contained lots of oil. cranked over with coil disconnected and the oil disappeared, then shining a torch down the plug holes you could see the tops of the pistons getting wet. When it ran it was spitting oil out of the exhaust. Checked the turbo high pressure feed, all good, checked the return all good. Checked oil level and that's ok.

made sure it was not injectors leaking, so I am now starting the strip down.

Could it be the valve stem seals, or would anyone think its the head gasket?

So the engine was fine before the conversion? And you've bolted a turbo on? I'd be looking at the turbo, pumping oil in the inlet?

Checked inlet side and all clean, no trace of oil in compressor housing, Intercooler or pipe work.

can you disconect the turdo and run it up to see if it,s still smoking ?,you only need the oil feed if turdo is spinning so maybe hold the impeller somehow ?

It would be very strange for ALL the oil seals on the valves to fail at the same time

Did you do any other engine work apart from bolting the turbo on ?
