Chassis mods

Hi
New to the forum,
I have had the old copy of Ron's book for years but never got round to building.
So now's the time,I know it will be an old topic but before i start can you tell me of any mods to the chassis from the book so i can use the Sierra rear.

Sorry if it's old news

There are a few mistakes in the book. So have a search through the forum to start with before you start cutting metal. Also have a search for McSorley, you will find a website with plans for a Sierra Backend and the corrections of rons book.

You don't want to use the Sierra rear suspension, just the drivetrain. By far the easiest way to do this is a De-dion axle from GTS Tuning. There is a drawing on that site that shows the mods required to fit the axle.

Most off the peg chassis now use Sierra donors to build IRS or de Dion rear ends and most companies will sell you the required bits to build your own.

For off the peg bits "the usual suspects" who are regularly mentioned on the list are pretty good.
The GTS website has some good pictures of the Sierra de dion rear set up.
