Strange Reverse Light Switch Problem
Here's one for you all....
Reverse light turns on when you push the gear stick down and into reverse but as soon as the stick is allowed to pop back up they go out. Even more
strange is that they done come back on again when you push it back down. You have to take out of reverse and try again.
I don't understand how that's possible.
Any ideas?

Either the switch is knackered, or the part that activates the switch in the gearbox is worn/broken?
Try another switch would be the first job

Sounds like the switch needs adjusting,
there normally is a locknut that you can loosen, then screw in the switch until the light stays on.
I have also seen ones where you add/remove shim washers.

I'll try and get it out at the weekend to inspect. I've ordered another switch as it's only £12 but I like to know why things
don't work so will try and diagnose before I just replace. Adjustment sounds plausible and may well do the job.
