wifi dropping

Hi
i have a laptop that is running windows ten
It keeps dropping the wifi connection
When i go into settings and look for wifi thats available it says there is none
However my phone the wifes phone the tv all have wifi but not my laptop.

I believe its to do with the wifi driver but in settings when i check the wifi driver it says its upto date and current??

Any advise on how to remove the driver and then re install a new or better one?

Thanks

Could the wifi drop because of were the laptop is related to the router ?

My wifes phone drops if she walks to the front window in the lounge, (with the phone) but no where else in the house, a problem
also, as soon as she goes outside the front door her wifi drops, but mine still works at my m8's house across the road

Bizarrely we are both using Iphone 6 on 02, and my phone does not drop

Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

this could be that you are using 2 different wifi bands
2.4ghz, longer range, but overused, and slower
5ghz, faster but shorter range, and less able to go through walls.

This could be the reason. Also if you are using the default settings on an ISP supplied router it will be set to "auto" for the channels. Generally this means it will look to use channels 1-12. If you are in a modern housing estate then this may cause havoc with the interference with neighbour's WiFi. Download WiFi analyser if you are using Android and check the signals in your home. Its also handy for checking dead spots.

If you can get on the router and change from "auto" to use channel 13 you should notice a difference. In my house on "auto" I get 6 to 7mbps even though I'm less than a foot away from the router. Changing to channel 13 and I'm at full speed of my router on downloads at 36mbps. Its worth trying.
