Digidash gear display not working

Evening
Just bought a vortx running a 1000cc r1 engine. The digidash isn't showing the gear. Been told this is worked with a magnet beside the propshaft csn anyone tell me where about on the propshaft the magnet is as don't have a clue.
Thanks in advance

Is your speed reading? What model R1 is it? DD2 doesn't like the R1 coil pack signal much and it won't work with the ECU RPM signal.

Hi thanks for replying
Apparently it was working according to the old owner.
Not sure of the r1 model will try and find out.

Been told it picks up the gear and speed off a magnet sensor beside the propshaft but not sure where about the sensor is situated. Don't want to strip the floor of the car of it is acceptable somewhere else.

The digidash just shows a c when in gear but does show neutral.

These usually need to be set. They measure speed and revs to compare and calculate, so need some set up done whilst moving to calibrate.

If the magnet has just fallen off out of the holder is it as simple as replacing a new magnet as long as the holder hasn't moved at all.
Do you know where about on the car the holder is beside the prop

Does the speedo work? What about RPM?

The magnet is for the speed sensor. As Loggy says, the DD does a calculation between the two which then gives the gear.

Post some pics and one of us will be able to tell you more.
