Oil filter mount vs fuel filter mount

Hi, I see that remote diesel fuel filter mounts are way cheap than the oil ones, are they same thread and size? i.e. can you screw on an oil filter onto one? I don't have a diesel so have never tried. ta

Meshes are different on oil and diesel filters. As oil is much thicker, oil meshes are bigger than diesel meshes. I would not try to filter oil with the small mesh of a diesel filter. It will give too much resistance to oil circulation, and the oil pump will not like it.

Yeah thanks, it was more can you screw an oil filter onto a fuel filter mount? It's just the fuel mounting is half the price of the oil ones yet they look the same in the pictures!
