Dutton Legarra for sale
Its listed on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267291457863
£1500
Here is the text
This is a Dutton Legarra kit car which was sold as a kit in 1986/7 that was put on the road in 1997. It is correctly registered in my name and is
currently SORNed. Over a number of years it has had a body off restoration and the engine and gearbox have been replaced with an MX5 Mk 2 1600cc one
and 5 speed gearbox. It has not been completed although almost everything is present to complete the car. Listed below is some items that are present
with the car.
Spare MX5 Mk1 1600cc engine and 5 speed gearbox.
MX5 wiring loom with ECU and matching keyset and steering lock with spare looms and another ECU / key set.
A pair of Westfield seats.
New propshaft matching Mazda gearbox and Ford rear axle fitted.
4 Team Dynamics alloy wheels fitted with new 'A' rated tyres and one further TD alloy with older tyre as spare.
Legarra build manual.
All discs, pads, calipers, brake shoes and master cylinders replaced with new.
Exhaust system built to and including CAT with new silencer and also alternate big bore silencer and pipes fo adaptation if wished.
New custom built alloy fuel tank and alloy radiator.
LED 'E' marked headlamps and also original standard headlamps, other new lamps inc sequential LED repeater flasshers and LED number plate
lights (last one has gone into hiding at the moment but will be found)
Andriod touch screen radio with new speakers and reversing camera (camera mislaid at the moment as well)
New seatbelts in red for fitting.
All door cards etc present. Car battery included with date 10/2024 stamp.
Convertible roof present but all lift the dot fasteners have been removed with expectation of repaint of car.
New water pump as spare - cam belt kit already replaced.
MX 5 workshop manual.
Spare steering rack.
Box of assorted bits and pieces.
So what needs doing?
Wiring loom is in place but needs connecting up and headlamps rear lights wiring extending (lots of spare wire with spare looms). Sierra rear light
clusters present and fitted.
Seats and seat belts fitting (included with car). Dashboard making although MX5 intrument binicle present. (I also have a complete set of ETB
instruments if required but at extra cost).
Interior trim to your own taste (grey carpet avalable with car).
Boot requires new hinges and has been made with electric press button lock with release butto needing fitting and wiring.
All oils and fluids will be required as everything is empty at present.
MOT to put on road , no IVA needed as already registered.
I am located in North Norfolk 4 miles south of Holt in a village called Briston.
I'm sure I will have forgotten something so the car will need to be inspected during final build to check nothing has be left undone but although
this list may seem long it is not as daunting as it seems.
I suppose the final question is why am I selling - this is my 6th kit car and although I enjoy them I am now in my 70's and seem to have lost the
drive I once had so I would rather this car went to someone who will finish and use it.

Good luck with the sale.
The full reg number is readable btw, in case you wanted to edit the photos for the ebay listing.

The pictures seem a bit confusing as many seem to be in a different state of assembly. I'd put how it currently looks at the top and the ones
that show it's rebuild at the bottom, noting on them that this is the case. Does the engine actually run, from the two identical engine pictures
it looks complete?
As above, your price is far too low, especially for a registered car and so many new parts.

Oops - I thought I had made the letters unreadable - thank you
Mr Whippy
Thank you for your comments I'll try to alter the listing. I do agree they are not in order, the latest photos were the ones taken in the garage
- the duplicate is an oops.
and Jacko
Price - I am aware that it is low but Duttons to not command a higher price like some makes and I hoped the low price would attract a quick sale
Thanks for the comments guys

And now is properly sold! New owner came from Scotland with a trailer arriving at 9am and is now on his way back to Scotland with the car and will
arrive after an 850 mile round trip. Wow!

Nice one, hopefully it has found a good home and seemed quite underpriced tbh. The style has aged well and I might even see it sometime at some shows.
