Returning my Car to the road: Part 2

My car has been off-the-road for a few (ahem) years now!

Last Summer I did a bunch of work and it's now almost ready for an MOT

This thread is an extension of this thread: HERE

However it has/had some bodywork damage that I was worried might fall foul of the MOT Tester - I believe there is now an expectation that the vehicles bodywork should not present a snagging risk to pedestrians.

My right hand rear wing was damaged when I drove over a fallen tree branch many years ago and the car has not been MOT'd since. So I took the wing off and did some repairs so that the car has a better chance of passing the MOT.

The first two pictures show the damage, I took these part way through the repair.

These pictures show the repairs post fibreglass but pre body filler.

I've now filled and sanded the damage to a reasonable finish.

I took a ride to my local Halfords to see if they had a 'close-enough' paint match in a spray can.

After comparing and checking 3 cans, that looked like British Racing Green (as per Stuart Taylor Motorsport of course!), I came away with this which appears to be a very close match. At least based on the colour of the lid

We shall see when I get some paint on the wing

More time on the car in the last two weeks means that I've finished the rear wing repair (for now at least!)

The paint is a pretty good colour match although the repair is still visible through the fibreglass/resin/filler and paint.

But you know what they say "perfection is the enemy of progress"

Good effort. I'm losing hope of even looking at mine this year.
