zetec 1.8 silvertop blowby
I seem to have quite a bit of blowby on this engine. 2020 crate engine with 24k miles.
it's running carbs, and the cam cover and block breathers have been joined to a tee venting to atmosphere. The PCV valve on the engine breather
pipe was also removed.
Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem with my 2.0 black top,
In the end I split the 2 separately. The crank case breather goes to a catch can and the cam cover goes to atmosphere.
Originally I linked the 2 together into the catch can and it created a vacuum and filled the catch can with oil in 20mins.

My 1.8 zetec silvertop from 1994 has the crankcase breather blocked off with a metal plate/gasket, and the cam cover vented to a catch tank, no
problems, I only get small amount of oil going to the catch tank.
Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

Do you use the original breather/separator box or an aftermarket breather for the block?
My engine had a breather plate with a very small tube on the block and also filled the tank on longer drives.
I now changed to the original breather/separator and been fine since.

I believe it is the original breather/separator, with the valve removed. But maybe it has been changed. I will check.

Same as mine, removed the valve and welded a an10 bung on there.
Valve cover uses the standard breather connection with an10 hose to the can. Both separately to the can
