Strengthening the rear end with IRS

Ok, im just about to undertake the massive welding job of installing the rear suspension (now that the easter holidays have came!!)

So, how have people strengthened up the rear?? It seems quite flimsy at the mo.

What about a couple of bars going from the back corners of the 'box', to where the spring mounts would be on a live axle.

Adam

The bars from the bacl of the diff box up to the roll bar mounts make a big effect on the stiffness of the rear of the chassis, at the cost of your boot space though.

Few pics of my IRS in my photos.

Ta

As you can see I've gone mad on the stiffness of that diff box cos in my case the shock loads are applied there too. Maybe not quite so important if your shockers are in the normal place, but then you do want nice stiff location for your wishbones I suppose...

What shape's your fuel tank going to be Liam? Wide at the top ond narrow at the bottom by the look of it.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
