Ugly Cortina Hand Brake Lever

Has anyone tried doing somethink to make the Cortina handbreak lever look a bit more modern?

Does that ugly plastic handle come off?

S'funny this should come up, thought the very same yesterday, you must be a cyclepath. The plaxit bit does come off but needs some persuasion.
I thought about a bit of turned ali but not having a lathe makes this a bit awkward.
Cheers,
Bob

Not sure if the Cortina handbrake is similar to the Sierra one, but the Richbrook handbrake cover looks really nice on mine - paired up with the Richbrook gaiter it looks even better . If I could figure out how to upload a pic I would show you!

Houston, we have the link
http://www.richbrook.co.uk/pages/newproducts.html

You have to butcher the plastic surround on the original lever, but it fits like a glove.

Another great site for my favorites.

Ilike the way they say a direct fit to a bmw, ford etc.

Sounds like a job for the engineers toolkit again

I'll have a look in the morning if i can drag myself away from my Electrolis tank.

£34.99 from Speeding.co.uk. Could build half a chassis for that.

Who was Ron trying to kid £250 my AR**SE

Cheap handbrake

If you can get access to a lathe ,you could turn up a handle pretty cheaply.Plus it'll be unique! Rescued attachment Picture 335.jpg

Didn't think about that! The handle goes into the recess in the centre tunnel when in the 'driving' position so I hope that won't be a problem
