You need to have it set up so the front wheels lock before the rears.

IIRC the bar also need to be locked with pins, ie it muct look like its permanently locked.

Hi All
Yes, the balance bar set-up has to be locked with roll pins. Wire-locking is not regarded as permanent enough.

An industrial fastenings place should have them in pretty much any size. Take a look in the Yellow Pages for a local one.

Also things like this are available (though you wouldnt wat to buy all that!):

Thanks for the input,so what you are saying is to drill the threaded section on each side of the bearing and put a roll pin in so the nuts cant be adjusted,am i understanding this correctly,if so can slit pins be used instead ?

Can't really be set without slow speed road testing --- needs to be set up on good dry surface. Usually warnings about starting with excess front brakes then gradual turn towards the rear untill all 4 whhels lock at the same time -- from SVA purposes turn back 2 full turns towards the front.
Also check the clearance between the yokes and the pedal tube isn't excessive say 0.5mm to .7mm. Too much clearance and it won't function in the even of a circuit failure to little and it won't act as a balance bar.
If you have too much rear brakes the balance point is way off centre fit a bigger master cyl;inder to the rear circuit than that on the front.
