Best Glue
I need a strong glue to bond my aluminium exhaust surround to the fibreglass body. Does anyone have any recommendations?

super stuff bonded an acrylic patch on to a fuel tank for the mot 3 years ago still goiong strong seems inpervious to most things and is flexible

depending on whats needed
if you need flexi
use silicon kit or some equalent
if you need just pure brute force i would go down the 2 components glue road

It doesnt need to be flexible at all.
The two main properties I need are:
Capable of staying solid at high temperature.
Non corrosive to aluminium and fibre glass.
Any ideas?

If I were you I would be looking for a flexible adhesive to cope with the differing rates of expansion between fibre glass and aluminium, not to
mention the any 'flexing' forces.

Ok, so it does need to allow for expansion and contraction between the two mating surfaces, but what about the fact that when it gets hot the glue may
melt and run down the side of the car?
Not too sure of the general operating temperature of an exhaust manifold?

I would be tempted to use a contact adhesive in this situation, (Bostick, Evostick).
If the exhaust is transferring enough heat to affect the adhesive it won't be doing much good to the fibre glass.
Bonus with the above is that they are fairly easy to remove if it can't stand the heat.
If it were me I'd rivet it on.

Yeah rivetting is another option. I think I'll make up a sandwich plate to hold the surround in place more securely, was going to use glue as a
preference as I thought it may be easier.

I'd go for a neat set of rivets. If you pay attention to marking out and placement of the rivets , it looks very professional. Use Stainless
rivets for that bling touch !
